Welcome to FEN Primary School

Our school is a learning environment where students discover themselves and the world around them by asking questions, making connections, forming hypotheses, testing them, experimenting, taking risks, learning from mistakes, and learning together. Through a strong academic program combined with a rich extracurricular activities program, we offer our students opportunities and experiences to develop academically, socially, physically, and emotionally. We also provide learning environments and resources that encourage curiosity and exploration.

At our school, we implement the Ministry of National Education curriculum in the most effective way by differentiating and enriching it, guided by our mission, learning principles, and the philosophy and pedagogy of FEN.

Our core teaching approach is student-centered and inquiry-based learning. In this context, our teachers design meaningful, engaging, challenging, and enjoyable learning experiences. They integrate information and communication technologies widely into their lessons to support learning and differentiate lessons according to students’ needs. Assessment and evaluation are essential parts of teaching and learning at our school. We equally value both process and product in our assessment practices. Using various tools and strategies for pre-assessment, formative assessment, and summative assessment, we monitor students’ learning throughout the process and provide feedback to them and other stakeholders.

Teaching and learning at our school are interdisciplinary. Students learn topics and concepts through transdisciplinary units. Additionally, they acquire and apply a set of interdisciplinary skills (social skills, communication skills, thinking skills, research skills, and self-management skills) that can be used in all areas of life both inside and outside school. They also develop FEN values that help them maintain a positive attitude towards learning, people, and the environment.

One of the strongest aspects of our school is our extracurricular activities program. This program, offering dozens of activities in the fields of art, science, and sports, helps students discover their talents, develop a balanced and healthy lifestyle, and gain effective self-management skills.

At our school, we encourage our students to take responsibility for their learning, to be accountable for their actions, to protect nature, and to serve the community. We expect them to initiate meaningful and responsible actions as a result of their learning. Participation in community service activities equips our students with cooperation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and creative and critical thinking skills.
