Fen Koleji

Believing that learning should be accessible, flexible, and delivered in various forms, FEN Schools enrich and support many teaching practices through the use of digital tools and technologies. To achieve this goal, the FEN community develops a consistent approach to using technology correctly, responsibly, effectively, and ethically. Our primary goal is to ensure that our students, as global citizens, use technology responsibly for research, learning, and communication, and are aware of its impact in the 21st century.

Every tool and material used for effective and lasting learning is considered an educational technology resource. In-service training programs designed to ensure that these resources are used by teachers in a way that serves the right purpose are planned and delivered by the FEN Schools Educational Technologies Department. With an educational technologies curriculum prepared according to ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) standards, the knowledge and skills our students are expected to acquire from kindergarten to high school are effectively integrated into the curriculum in cooperation between the Educational Technologies Department and subject teachers.

FEN Schools provide their students with a learning environment equipped with the latest technology, including state-of-the-art computer and design laboratories, smart projectors in classrooms, and 3D printers, ensuring the use of the most advanced tools and resources.

ROBOTICS

The primary goal of robotics classes at Fen College is to develop students’ cognitive skills and creativity. In addition, our students learn to adapt to teamwork and use technology more actively in their literacy skills. Our lessons aim to help them develop different strategies when faced with problems in daily life, while also fostering a generation that produces rather than consumes.

We have observed that robotics classes positively impact STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) skills and make learning by doing more effective. Through these activities, we also lay the foundation for encouraging our students to think creatively and critically.

As a result of robotics classes, which have been actively conducted in our school for the past two years, our students have produced 70 different projects and achieved 3rd place in the world at the “Infomatrix Robotics Olympiad.” In this process, our students learned to build robots by combining electronic sensors and circuit components, taking significant steps toward realizing their dreams through assigned tasks. Knowing that the education we provide also contributes to other areas of learning, we are proud to see the fruits of both our students’ and our own efforts.

CODING

The process we start in preschool with visual coding methods continues to be developed across all our educational levels. Through the projects they create, our students open up a world of possibilities for themselves by making social life easier and developing their projects with innovative ideas.

Coding education enhances digital literacy while also contributing to our children’s ability to learn a new language. Coding lessons, which are one of the most enjoyable ways to learn English, go beyond the limits of traditional teaching methods in learning different languages, leading to permanent learning in a short period of time.

One of the main goals of our lessons is to instill the awareness of using the Internet, the greatest source of information today, in a creative rather than consumptive way. Through coding, our children learn how software works and will be able to take an active role in creating quality software in the future. Interactive lessons are held to guide children who are interested and talented in this field, laying solid foundations for their development.

STEM

STEM education focuses on the integration of different disciplines, primarily Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics — represented by the initials of STEM.

At Fen College, the work carried out in the STEM laboratory aims to enable students to produce original projects in groups and to become productive individuals who can apply the projects they prepare to real-life situations.

With the STEM approach, Fen College students develop into individuals who can innovate, solve problems, and view daily life through a lens of critical thinking.

Mind Games

In today’s rapidly developing and changing world, it is important for our students to discover their different talents, develop their potential, and learn to work in cooperation with others while sharing ideas. In this context, games are one of the most valuable tools we can use for the development of our students. Individuals learn more easily and quickly when they enjoy both the subject and the method. For this reason, "play" is at the core of education worldwide. In this process, students are active and engage in independent learning. They first examine the game and learn the rules, then develop strategies and create plans based on these rules. These are the hidden learning processes.

Through the mind games lessons at Fen College, we help our students recognize their intellectual potential, develop different strategies when faced with problems, make quick and accurate decisions, build a systematic way of thinking, enhance teamwork and competition skills, and adopt a positive attitude toward problem-solving.

Mind games are activities that develop strategy building, planning, reasoning, logical integration, visual-spatial thinking, creativity, attention and concentration, memory, and recall skills in both children and adults. At the same time, they foster attitudes and behaviors such as foresight, planning, patience, determination, accepting defeat, and healthy competition, while providing hands-on applications in the kinesthetic domain.
